I do most of my work in Black and White. It was how I was taught by Ansel Adams along with his "Zone System" of visualizing, photographing, film developing and printing how a scene appeared at a particular moment of and in time. Black and White implicitly imparts my particular feeling about a scene - not the technical elements but rather the natural elements captured at a specific moment in time. Black and white is not somehow a lessor view of a thing, it requires a discipline on both the shooter and the viewer to identify what is truly the story, not just the shiny sparkly bits that color distracts the viewer from seeing.
